Our Story

For The Culture DMV Food Tour was created to celebrate culture, community, and the incredible Black-owned restaurants that help make the DMV unforgettable.

What started as a passion project began with a simple question—why doesn’t an experience like this exist here?

In searching for one, I found something similar nearly 2,000 miles away in Los Angeles. That moment sparked a vision: to bring a meaningful, culturally rooted food experience home to the DMV.

Along that journey, I was blessed to connect with my mentor, Daisy Jane, founder of the Black LA Food Tour, whose guidance helped shape and inspire this vision.

Today, this business stands as my love letter to the DMV.

Built on Purpose

Service has always been at the center of my journey.

I have proudly served our country for the past seven years as a Department of Defense professional, following seven years of service at the Maryland Department of Human Services supporting vulnerable communities.

My educational background—a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership & Management—has given me the foundation to build something that creates real impact, connection, and opportunity.
